Inside SIMOF: how we produce its daily video coverage

29 August 2026

Our story with SIMOF began before we first stepped inside FIBES. Through Hub&grow we met the team at DOBLE ERRE and began working together on projects such as La Cuaresma, a food-focused production. That experience later led us to the International Flamenco Fashion Week.

Since 2024, La Huella Studio has helped produce SIMOF’s video coverage as part of the press team, working alongside DOBLE ERRE. We move between the runway, the corridors, interviews and an editing desk that keeps working long after the last show ends.

Runway shows, designers, brands, press and social media all compete for attention at once. Our video production work at SIMOF means deciding what each piece needs before the moment passes, then turning a full day into a story ready to watch the following morning.

The SIMOF 2026 press preview at Setas de Sevilla

Before the official week at FIBES began, we filmed the SIMOF 2026 press day on the viewing platform at Setas de Sevilla. We worked with a small, agile crew — two people from La Huella Studio and a drone operator — to capture the performance, atmosphere and speeches without slowing the event down.

The presentation previewed an edition featuring 120 brands, 1,550 designs and 52 runway shows, with Rossy de Palma as guest of honour. Our job was to turn that first glimpse of SIMOF into a short, lively piece with a clear identity.

From recording the event to telling each day’s story

Each recap brought together runway footage, atmosphere and interviews. Music set the pace; spoken contributions helped explain who had been at SIMOF and what had happened. We wanted to condense the day into a short social video with context and a distinctly flamenco visual identity.

Daily recap from SIMOF’s 30th anniversary

The presenter began using a handheld reporter’s microphone as part of SIMOF’s on-screen style. Together with Hub&grow, the team also introduced influencer-reporters. The camera could move from the runway to a conversation with figures such as María José Suárez or José Mercé without losing the thread of the day.

Part of the press team since 2024

Since 2024, we have worked with Raquel Revuelta and the DOBLE ERRE team on press coverage. By 2025, SIMOF’s 30th anniversary year, we knew the routes, the gaps between shows and the places where a camera could work without getting in anyone’s way.

Our technical approach evolved too. In some situations, we used smaller microphones to keep sound close to the speaker and equipment less visible in the frame. The choice depended on the interview and the movement we expected, not on using a new tool for its own sake.

The people are part of the story too

The camera follows more than clothes. It follows the people who give the event context. This image of María José Suárez and Raquel Revuelta belongs to that side of the coverage: the event’s story is also shaped by the people who explain it, present it and connect it with the audience.

SIMOF also brings together designers, brands, media, partners and institutions. The production team chooses which stories to prioritise, keeps a clear direction and gives each piece its own focus.

How we organise the daily reel

  • Before: identify the essential moments, prepare interviews and decide what the daily reel needs to tell.
  • During: film the runway, atmosphere and influencer-reporters without disrupting the natural flow of the event.
  • After: offload the footage, select the shots and edit the vertical video for the following day.

Coverage that keeps evolving

Each edition helps us refine the coverage and the sound and editing tools we use. The priority stays the same: a recap that makes sense on its own, showing who took part, what happened and what made that day distinctive.
